The village of Propriano is located only 900 meters from the hotel. Originally, the small port consisted of only a few fishermen's huts at the place called "Terra Nova". Today the "city center" and the navy have developed and become ideal places for a "shopping" day out or for a festive walk at night. From our beautiful church of Mercy or from the marina, we can admire the "pointed", typical fishing boats that rub shoulders with modern yachts.
A 15-minute drive from the hotel, discover Sartène and its medieval old town, with steep streets and traditional stalls. During the summer season, the large square of the village hosts a market of local products where you can taste the famous tomme of ewes sartenaise, the old ham of the Alta Rocca, or a sample of the best honeys, jams and liqueurs of the island.
The prehistoric site of Filitosa is a high place of Corsican prehistory. Classified by UNESCO, this 8000 year-old-site is 20 minutes from the hotel in the direction of Port-Pollo. Occupied from the Neolithic to the Roman period, Filitosa is the flagship of the insular megalithic art, and one of the most important in the Mediterranean. Composed mainly of statues-menhirs, circular monuments and many other vestiges, this site tells the history of Corsica in one hour of visit.
The town of Bonifacio is characterized by cliffs of limestone rock that contrast with the rest of Corsica granitic. Located about one hour from the hotel, Bonifacio is characterized by its port and by its citadel, point of view on neighboring Sardinia. The marina is surrounded by bars, restaurants and small shops. Upstairs, the old town is recognizable to its houses built overhanging cliffs.
The Alta Rocca region is known for its hilltop villages, but also for its countless walks. At 20 minutes you can visit the village of Saint Lucia of Tallano, with its oil mills and convent Saint Francis. Above, you will discover the pass of Bavella and its famous needles (chain of rocky peaks which culminate at more than 1800 meters of altitude). Nearby you can stop in the dense forest of the Ospedale.
Among the most beautiful on the island, the beaches of the Gulf of Valinco are paradises for swimmers, divers or surfers. A few steps from the hotel, the beach of "Sampiero Corso" allows the fastest access to the sea. In the south, "A Rena Bianca" (white sand) offers a magnificent panorama on the sea. To the north, the creeks of Olmeto are true havens of peace, only disturbed by the song of the cicadas. Miles of fine sand, sublime funds, our shores will surprise the strollers like crazy water sports.
